Hi, Again. I hope your day is going well.
Some time ago I posted a blog about what we watch on TV here. Today Anne reminded me that I only spoke of one TV show: Pointless. She wants me to add to that and especially mention her favorite weather man, Sean. So here goes.
At 5:00 pm on STV (Scottish TV) they do the news and weather; the weather with Sean. Without the forecast we have no way of knowing if it is warm or cold or dry or raining or windy or not. OF course, we can always open the door, but that seems like a lot of work. So we watch STV.
I guess he forgot to tell us when he was going to be in Cullen.
After the 5pm news comes The Chase, our “now” most favorite game show. We have been known to binge-watch The Chase.
Concept of the Chase:
There are 4 contestants who answer questions posed by the Host. There is a Chaser who answers questions. The goal is to answer more questions correctly than the Chaser, who is very, very smart.
At the start of each show, we are introduced to the team of four contestants who individually take it in turns to build up their jackpot. In the first part of their stint, they face 60 seconds of general knowledge, with each correct answer being worth £1,000.
They then go up against the chaser who offers them even more cash. But to win this, the contestants must not allow the chaser to answer more questions correctly than they. If the chaser answers more question than a contestant, the contestant must leave the game. After all contestants have been, the ones who are left go into the final chase.
Now, they work as a team. They have to answers more questions in two minutes than the chaser to win the cash they have built up. If the chaser answers more questions, the team goes home with nothing. If they answer more, they share evenly in the money they won.
The always ask the contestants what they will use the money for if they win. Sometimes they get interesting answers. One woman said she would buy some new knickers (underwear). She said that the pair she had on was the only pair she had with a crotch. She didn’t win.
So we always enjoy The Chase. We do pretty well on the general knowledge questions, but those about strictly UK topics, no so much. Also, we don’t know the details of Football (Soccer).
Other than that we can watch Agatha Christie 24 hours a day; Columbo several times a day; QVC; Father Brown several times an evening; The Big Bang Theory 24 hours a day. For some reason we no longer get Doc Martin or As Time Goes By. Maybe the regular schedule will be on after the holidays.
Bye for now, See you later.
We love Father Brown!!!
You have better TV programs than the USA.
