Cullen, Finally! (8)

Hello, again.   Well, we did make it to Edinburgh and to our hotel for the night.  Just to Re-group and find the final transportation to Cullen.  We stayed in a small hotel called Hampton Hotel.  It is lovely, has a pub with good food and is pet friendly.

The next morning we headed out to the Edinburgh train station again to start the final leg of the journey.  Waverly Station is a very large train station with all the amenities you could want.  And one you may not have thought of.

A passenger sat down to play.  I walked over and told him that if he played and I sang, maybe we could make enough money to get a ticket out of town.  He stood up and walked away.  No sense of humor.  Or maybe I scared him.

Finally our train arrived and we got on it and were on the final leg of the trip.  We took the train to Keith and then took a taxi to Cullen, our home for the next 6 months.  The picture below is of one of the train stations along the way.

We finally managed to find our cottage, which wasn’t as easy as you might think.  Cullen seems to be divided into 2 sections:  NewTown and SeaTown.  Our cottage is in SeaTown.  There are no street names or numbers here.  Every house just has a number.  It looks like the area is organized on sort of a spiral.  They started at number 1 and just continued around the spiral till everyone had a number.  Works for them.

It is easy to find our house as it is just in front of the Methodist Church, the tallest building in SeaTown.  And, we are just 2 rows of houses off the beach.  When the sea is high, the waves hit the seawall and jump about 30 feet into the air.

I’ll be back later with more pictures.  See you then.
